Some time ago, the old Digital Archives was closed due to security issues. With this, some databases that we hoped would be left in the Digital Archive disappeared. Among other things, there were excerpts from several US censuses that had an overview of Norwegians. This applied to the United States census 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880. Now it is only Nevada from 1880 that is to be found under Finn source, but this is also not available, as the link does not work.
The old digital archive has been the place to go to get an overview of emigrants, especially after 1867, as it showed families traveling together. But hopefully those who work with the Digital Archives will now program the transcript of the emigrant protocols so that it becomes possible to see lists of people who traveled at the same time. In addition, one cannot browse the current lists, as the buttons for “Back” and “Next” are not yet activated. Read about an alternative way to do it in the post Browse emigrants in the Digital Archive.
