Soon all the Norwegian church books from the period 1801-1900’s will be searchable at the website, Digitalarkivet.no. According to their plan, these church records will be available during the first half of 2020.
Since 2017, the digital archive has collaborated with FamilySearch, Ancestry and MyHeritage on transcription. This collaboration has already resulted in the census of 1891 being readily available, and more will be forthcoming. However, as a user you should remember that transcripts are still considered as a secondary source , an index to the original source and should always be checked against the primary original document.
